New Years Eve Nails: Cocoa With A Little Sparkle

If any night calls for a touch of sparkle then it's New Years Eve. Despite not actually going out tomorrow night, it would be rude not to give my nails a little TLC and I'm sure many of you will be getting glammed up for the occasion and might want a little bit of nail inspo...

Barry M Cocoa and Starlight Nail Paint
Barry M Nail Paint, £3.99 each, Boots

As I said in my 'Most Used Make Up Of 2014' post, the only nail varnish I really use is Barry M. I just don't think you can fault them as a nail brand. The formula is thick and shiny and my nails always seem to be chip-free for a good few days which is a win-win situation for me. Why pay lots for a high end nail varnish if you can achieve good results with one that costs less than £4!?
For my NYE nails, I've opted for a combination of 'Cocoa' and 'Starlight'.
Cocoa is a lovely dark brown shade and is part of the Hi-Shine Gelly range so is super shiny but pigmented whilst Starlight is a gold and silver glittery polish with little stars in it.

I've used Cocoa all over with a stroke of Starlight on my ring finger. There's something about a statement nail that just seems to take your nails from everyday to occasion with little effort required. The only downfall is having to remove the glitter nail varnish but it's only on 2 nails so it could be worse, right?
Boots actually have an offer on, at the moment, which lets you grab the 'Starlight' nail varnish for free when you spend £6 on Barry M so if you fancy doing your nails on a budget tomorrow night, you can't go wrong with this!
What are your plans for tomorrow night? Will you be seeing in the new year with some nice looking nails?

  1. Cocoa is a lovely shade, I'm not a fan of the Barry M Gelly Range as we don't have a good history together, wish I did like it though as this colour is gorgeous. My nails are chipped at the moment, not a good look for NYE!!

  3. I've never worn Cocoa but it looks gorgeous paired with the 'Starlight' glittery one. Lol, glitter nail polish really is a pain to get off but hey, it looks nice! (-: I just went with a simple nude. Hope you have a happy new year!

  4. I love Barry M for nail varnish but have never tried the dark shade before. Starlight is so pretty and was featured in my top festive nail varnishes :) xx
