Review: Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake

Without make up on, my eyebrows are extremely light. Blink and you'll miss 'em. So I would say an eyebrow product is definitely one piece of make up I couldn't live without. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect solution for my brows and think this offering from Illamasqua comes pretty close...

During my teenage years I dabbled with eyebrow pencils a lot but I've now realised powder based products are far better for my brows. Eye Brow Cake by Illamasqua is a powder and comes in a nice square flip top compact that's small enough to have with you on the go. It doesn't come with a brush but I often find the brushes that come with eyebrow products tend to be pretty naff so it's better to invest in a good one. I recently bought the Illamasqua Precision brush which I LOVE. It's angled and draws product on reeeeally fine making less room for mistakes.

Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake. £15.50, ASOS

Eyebrow cake comes in a few different colours but I opted for 'Motto' which is an ashy grey colour. It looks completely grey in the pan which can be quite off-putting and wouldn't be suitable for people who are after a warm shade. However, if, like me, you have blonde brows and want a cool, ashy shade that looks natural then this is the one for you!

One of the biggest problems I have found with a lot of eyebrow products aimed at blonde gals is that they can be on the orange side and end up looking far too warm for my pale skin. This shade is the complete opposite of that so is far more flattering for my pasty complexion, in my opinion.

(I must apologise for the state of my brows in these photos - I thought I'd plucked all those pesky stray hairs until I zoomed in!)

You can buy Illamaqua products quite a few places, I usually buy it from ASOS when they're doing discount codes such as 20% off to make it a little cheaper.

Will you be trying out Eye Brow Cake? Let me know!
