Hello 2015

(Photo taken & edited by me)

So, today I went back to work after a week of resting and relaxing - which was a bit of a shock to the system after spending the majority of my time off in my pyjamas, eating far too much chocolate! I've been loving reading everyone's New Years Resolutions post's so decided to jump on the bandwagon and write up my own...

2014 was actually a pretty good year for me. I graduated from university, moved in with my boyfriend, bought a car and got my first full time job. Ooh and I went to Paris too (hence the big old Eiffel tower shot above) which was amaazing! But I still feel there was things I could have improved on/changed so these are the resolutions I've set myself this year, most of them are pretty cliche so apologies in advance:

1) Eat healthier
You know the drill - this is probably at the top of about a million peoples resolution list but, as much as I try to eat well, I just like pizza and maltesers far too much! I'm not going to say I'll cut out all the bad stuff, because I just can't, but I am going to try my best to eat a bit cleaner, cut out unnecessary crap and have plenty of fruit and veg. I actually really enjoy cooking and hate the way I feel after eating junk food so I'm looking forward to getting back in the kitchen and coming up with some new recipes. I also got a smoothie maker for Christmas so that's an easy way to eat lots of fruit!
2) Exercise more
I have absolutely no excuse for this as I own a cross trainer - yet it's currently been used as a coat rack. I definitely need to start using this more - on the run up to my holiday in August/September I went on it almost every night for half an hour/an hour and really saw a difference so I'm determined to start using it again. I'd like to join a gym at some point this year too when the evenings get a bit lighter and I have a bit more spare cash!
3) Save, save, save
Last year was an expensive year for me. I bought a car, went on two foreign holidays, had an adult brace fitted and also started renting a flat with my boyfriend! This year I want to try and save as much money as possible so we can eventually get a mortgage and have a house of our own. As much as I love our flat, I'd much prefer to have our own house that we can decorate and make our own. Time to stop wasting money on Starbucks and stash it away in a savings account instead!
4) Blog more
I only really started blogging in November but I'm enjoying it so much! I absolutely love having a little place on the internet to share my thoughts and opinions and I've also met some lovely people along the way too in blogger chats and so on. I feel like I've really missed out by waiting so long to start this blog but, there's no time like the present, so from now on I'm going to keep on top of it as much as I can. I'm aiming to post about 3/4 times a week and build my readership as much as possible. For me, knowing that other people are actually interested in what I have to say is one of the best feelings and I'm really excited about seeing how Bethany Georgina will progress in 2015.
5) Worry less
I'm a huge worrier. I probably worry more now than ever. Sometimes it's about understandable things such as lack of money but half of the time it's about pointless problems that just seem to escalate in my mind and eat away at me. This is one resolution I'm not really sure how to go about achieving, if I'm honest, but I can only try.
6) Be happier
I'm a bit of a glass half empty kinda girl, if I'm honest, but I want to try and change that. I have a lot of things to be happy about but, far too often, I find myself comparing myself to others and thinking how things could be better. I'm going to try and be much more positive this year and focus on the good rather than the not-so-good.
7) Read more
Each year, when I go on holiday, I read about 7 books in a week and I realise how much I love reading! Yet as soon as I'm home, I'm back on my laptop or watching television when I could be curled up with a good book. I'm feeling a little Amazon order soon so if anyone has any good book recommendations, send them this way!
8) Try out some new beauty brands
This is a bit of a shallow resolution compared to the other ones where I got a bit deep, soz guys. But, since I've started blogging, I've realised how many beauty brands I am missing out on. I absolutely love trying out new beauty products so I'm surprised I still haven't bought into some of these brands. NARS is at the top of my list followed by; Charlotte Tilbury, Make Up Revolution and Tarte. If anyone has any reviews of products from these brands, leave them below - I'd love to read them. (I realise this resolution may contradict my resolution to save, oops.)
What are your new years resolutions? Link me to your posts - I'd love to read them :)

  2. Love all your goals! I know what you mean about eating healthier; it'd be impossible to say cut out all the bad stuff altogether! Maltesers just aren't worth giving up. I want to read more too. I've just started a book called The Miniaturist that's Waterstones' bestseller and it's great so far!

  6. Sounds like some great goals there! I could really need to follow you on the save money part, but somehow I feel like that will be a hard one for me ;) I just got an order from Makeup Revolution that is posted on the blog, and the one before that is about my 2015 goals, so just check in if you want to read :) xx

  7. Thanks for your comment on my blog Beth and I'm so glad I've found yours. The content is great plus the overall style is gorgeous! I can relate to many of these resolutions, particularly stressing less, as I'm an avid worrier! Often the things I worry about never even materialise, so it really is a waste of energy! :) Hope you have a brilliant 2015, Lucy x

  8. Congratulations on all your achievements of 2014. I'm sure 2015 will be a greater year for you. Funnily enough our resolutions are so similar. Reading more - books and blogs - is a major thing for me and saving. But also to gain more blogger friends and widen my network. Great post and good luck!
