February Favourites

February Favourites

I'm a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to make up and skincare and tend to stick to what I like, which is why a monthly favourites section is rare for me, purely because it would end up featuring the same stuff every month - and nobody's got time for that right? However, I've discovered some new loves in February so thought I would share them with you all...

I've already featured this badboy on my blog a couple of posts ago but I just had to include the Lush Tea Tree Toner Water in my February favourites as I absolutely love it! I got this for my birthday at the beginning of the month and have used it morning and night since. The lazy girl in me loves the spritzer as it means there's no need for faffing around with cotton pads and it feels soo refreshing on my skin. My skin seems to have cleared up since using it and I can soon see this rapidly becoming one of those 'forever repurchased' products.

After realising people could practically see their reflection in my oily forehead I decided I NEEDED to invest in a face powder to follow my foundation and help keep things matte and non-shiny. Enter MAC Blotting Powder. My friend used this on me for my graduation back in July and I was amazed at how well my make up stayed put - despite being kitted out in floor length black robes on one of the hottest days of the year! It comes in three shades and I opted for the lightest of the three - which looks almost white in the pan. However, don't let this put you off as it's not really a powder that adds colour but more of a mattifier.

I recently did a post about my top two moisturisers and I swore I would never stray away from my usual Day cream - the Clarins Daily Energizer Cream. However, my skin has been a right old pain recently and I thought I'd try something different out. The Superdefense SPF 20 Daily Defense Moisturiser has been sitting unopened, gathering dust in my make up drawer, from my days of being a Clinique counter girl when I was lucky enough to get their products ridiculously cheap. I thought I'd give it a go and I'm so glad I did. Superdefense, like all Clinique products, is fragrance free so good for sensitive skins and has a very light silky texture, that just sinks straight into my skin. This version is definitely one for oilier girls but they do a version for drier skins too so just make sure you double check when purchasing.

I'm guessing this little gem might be cropping up in quite a few bloggers Feb Faves and deservedly so. I didn't have high hopes for the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara after being a bit disappointed by They're Real which absolutely everyone seems to rave about. However, as it came free with Elle magazine, I was more than happy to part with £4 to try it out. I was surprised by how much I liked this mascara. It lengthens and separates my lashes like no other and I've been using it every day since I got my hands on it. My only quibble, however, is that I have noticed a couple of black spots appearing underneath my eyes after wearing it for a whole day so it's not quite as long lasting as I'd like it to be.

I can't believe I've only just got my hands on a Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil. I've been pining after a NARS velvet lip pencil for months, now, but my bank balance just doesn't agree with their £17 price tag. So, after seeing many bloggers brandishing this product as a dupe for the NARS offering, I was excited to try them out for myself. Obviously, as I've never tried the NARS versions out, I can't compare them but I'm more than happy with Maybelline's budget option. I opted for Minimalist (a baby pink) and Nude Perfection (a brown toned nude). Nude Perfection is definitely my favourite as it's got that 90's nude lip look written all over it - Kylie Jenner, watch out. For just £4.99, I'll definitely be expanding my collection.

Do you love any of these products? What were your February favourites?
