Keeping It Casual

Erm what? Another fashion post from me? Maybe these will start to become a regular over here - who knows! Anyways, I was recently sent a gorgeous pair of jeans from American Eagle Outfitters, who have just launched in the UK, so thought I'd force my sister to play photographer and get posing again. This time it's a much more relaxed look as I'm hardly adventurous when it comes to fashion (apologies for the greasy top knot and dishevelled mother of dragons style hair - wanted an extra hour in bed it to match the relaxed outfit didn't I?)
When it comes to clothes, the one item I can't live without is jeans. I wear them pretty much everyday and so I'm forever on the hunt for the 'perfect pair'. I want them to be comfy, fit properly, look good, hide my food baby  - the list goes on.  So, when American Eagle Outfitters were kind enough to send me a pair of their distressed 'jegging' jeans, I was a very excited at the prospect of trying a completely new pair out (as I usually always just stick to the Topshop Leigh range.)
When I heard the word 'jeggings', I immediately envisioned those thin denim effect leggings I used to wear when I was at sixth form that lasted about 2 months and kindly highlighted the shape of my underwear. (*shudder*) Thankfully, this pair are NOTHING like that. Instead, they are just a seriously comfy pair of jeans that aren't too thick but are definitely not too thin (infact, I'd say these are much thicker than the Topshop Leigh range) but they still have the stretchiness you'd expect from a pair of leggings. Perfect for when you've had a bit of a binge and would usually need to open the top button in order to breathe (hoping I'm not alone in this?!)
I love the distressed design - it's perfect for that laid back, weekend look - and I like that the rips aren't just on the knees like a lot of pairs tend to be. I also like that they're just the classic denim colour as, despite being a massive jeans lover, I didn't really own a pair this shade before. Length wise, I probably could have gotten away with short but, as these are regular, I just rolled them up at the bottom. You can't tell from the pictures obvs but they really are just so comfy - like seriously, I don't even have feel the need to take them off and change straight into my pjs when I get home and that's saying something.
Top - Topshop | Jeans - American Eagle Outfitters* | Sandals - George at Asda* | Necklace - Ellie Ellie* | Watch - Marc Jacobs

I paired the jeans with a simple, black, oversized tee from Topshop (which I think is last season, sorry!) and my favourite summery shoes at the moment - these beaut white strappy sandals* from George at Asda. Jewellery wise, I just kept it simple with my trusty Marc Jacobs watch and this stunning rose gold necklace* from Ellie Ellie. (Check them out! All their items are handmade in Sussex and they offer super cute personalised products too.)

What do you think of this look? Do you like distressed denim?
