6 Quotes For When You Need Motivating

Despite being a bit of a cup half empty kinda gal sometimes, I'm still a sucker for pinning quotes like a mad woman, on Pinterestin the hopes they'll inspire and uplift me. So today, I thought I'd share with you all some of my favourite quotes to give you a bit of mid-week motivation and (hopefully) not cause any cringe-induced vomiting...

"When nothing goes right, go left"
Let's get the cheese outta the way first, shall we? Aside from been a tad on the cringey side, I think this is a really nice quote (hence the paperchase postcard of it!) because it's a refreshing and simplistic way of looking at change. If lots of things just don't seem to be slotting into place, then why not head in a new direction?

"The secret to getting ahead is getting started"
I love this quote because it's so true. There are so many times I sit and think of all the things I want to achieve, yet, I haven't even taken the first step to getting there. It's one of those quotes that reminds you to stop moping around and just get shit done.

"If you don't like where you are, move. You are not a tree"
Straight talking quotes like this are the best kind for motivation, in my opinion, and this one is just spot on. And it's also one that I really, really need to take note of as I am so guilty of complaining about things that could quite easily be changed by simply just moving on.

"It's better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder"
This is one of those wise owl quotes I'll probably tell my grandchildren in like 50 years time but, again, it's so true. I think it serves as a reminder that it's always worth trying for something you really want, even if it results in disappointment, rather than just not giving it a go, at all.

"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end"
Okay so this one may be a tad cheesy too (or maybe a lot!) and I've seen it thrown about far too often but it's just one of those quotes I like to tell myself when I'm having a shitty day and need a bit of much-needed motivation to carry on as things can (and will) get better!

"Just chuck it in the fuck bucket and move on"
Probably my favourite quote of all and I'd love to know which genius first actually said this. Dwelling on things that have pissed us off is just completely pointless (even though I do it far too often) and sometimes you really do just need to throw whatever it is that's getting you down aside and move the fuck on. It doesn't get much more motivating than this, I tell ya.

What are your favourite quotes?
