All About Antipodes

Antipodes Products
Antipodes is one of those brands that I've always admired from a distance. Probably because it's just not as mainstream as other skincare brands like Clarins or Clinique, so  I wasn't completely sure on how well their products would work. However, after trying out a couple of different products from their range, I am completely sold. And, since it's organic beauty week at the moment, I thought it was the perfect time to share some of my favourite products from Antipodes with you because, you guessed it, everything of theirs is either completely organic or packed with natural ingredients...

I've never really been fussed about using organic products before but, since using Antipodes for a good few weeks now, I can definitely see the appeal. I do have quite sensitive skin and have to be picky with what I use but nothing from Antipodes has caused any kind of reaction for me yet which is fab. I don't mind splashing out with skincare, either, as I want to get the right stuff for me and I definitely think Antipodes is more than worth it's price tag due to the fact they do use 100% natural ingredients. Although, having said that, Antipodes is definitely more affordable than some other skincare brands out there.
Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser

Anyway, moving on to the good stuff... my absolute favourite Antipodes product at the moment is the Grapeseed Butter Cleanser*. I was actually really apprehensive about trying this because it's a very thick cleanser and I was convinced it was going to cause me shit loads of breakouts but, thankfully, it didn't at all. I don't use this cleanser all the time as I think it's best to be saved for a deep cleanse. But, when I do, I use my Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm first to get all my make up off and then follow up with this to give my skin a seriously deep clean. Honestly, my face feels so soft after using this and, because it's so thick, you only have to use a tiny bit so I can see it lasting ages which is always a plus.
Now, serums are something I've never really bothered with before. Although I do like to have a skincare routine, I like to keep it as minimal as possible and I always thought a serum was a bit of an unnecessary step. But I may have changed my mind. I've been trialling two different Antipodes serums; Worship Superfruit* and Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping* - I use them both after cleansing and before moisturising. My favourite is definitely the Worship Superfruit as I feel like, since using it, I've barely had any breakouts, my skin feels more hydrated and it smells gorgeous - this is probably due to the blackcurrant and boysenberry! I do like the skin plumping serum but just don't feel it really offers any more than Superfruit but this could be due to the fact I'm not really seeking plump skin so don't reap the benefits like someone else would. Both serums are water-based which I love as it means you don't really have to rub them in - just pat them onto your skin and it'll sink right in. And the syringe style applicators are genius as you don't end up wasting any product.
Finally, I've been giving the the Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream* a go - which is basically a really gentle, no-fuss moisturiser. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of the smell of this one. It just smells a bit clinical and it did put me off a bit when I first used it. But, let's just say, never judge a moisturiser by it's smell because I do really, really like this day cream. It actually feels quite thick so I only use a tiny amount but it's not oily at all and, like the serums, it sinks straight into my skin. The lack of fragrance is probably a good thing as it's not caused me any breakouts like some moisturisers do. If you're just looking for a simple, no frills moisturiser that'll hydrate your skin then the Light Rejoice Day Cream is definitely a good one to go for. I don't think £26.99 is a bad price for this, either, as far as moisturisers go so I'm sure I'll be repurchasing!
