Blanx Teeth Whitening Range - Review & Giveaway! *ENDED*
After putting myself through the pure torture of adult braces last year, I vowed I would keep my teeth in pristine condition for as long as possible. After my braces were taken off in May, I dabbled in a bit of teeth whitening but didn't really stick at it long enough to see any results. So when Blanx gave me the chance to try out their teeth whitening range, I was more than happy to give it a go...
I've always thought that teeth whitening toothpastes are a bit of a con and probably wouldn't do much (and would also hurt my sensitive teeth in the process!) But, Blanx proved me wrong. Although I didn't notice my teeth really getting any whiter, at the time, when I compared photos from day 1 to day 14, I was pleasantly surprised. There's definitely a subtle difference in the whiteness of my teeth and I'm hoping they'll get even whiter with continued use.
I also needn't have worried about the toothpaste irritating my teeth, either. I usually use Sensodyne (specifically for sensitive teeth) but I wouldn't say my sensitivity was heightened at all since switching.
I was given the Intensive Whitening Treatment and three different toothpastes; Classic, Advanced Whitening and Stain Removal to try. I used Intensive Whitening every night as this is the one (as the name suggests) that is meant to provide a more intense treatment and give quicker results. I then rotated between the other three toothpastes on the morning just to give you a guys an idea of what they're all like. All the toothpastes had a pleasant taste and left my mouth feeling really fresh afterwards. My favourite taste-wise was probably the classic, although, I definitely preferred the packaging of the others as they all came with pumps - whereas the classic was in a tube. The Intensive treatment was probably my least favourite, texture wise, as it was slightly runnier than your average toothpaste.
Here's a close up of my teeth before and after...
The thing I like most about the Blanx Original range is that it doesn't use harsh chemicals or abrasives like a lot of other whitening products. The last whitening treatment I used actually made my teeth hurt so much afterwards that I had to stop using it. So I was doubtful about trying this, to be honest, but glad I did as it didn't hurt my teeth at all. It basically just felt like using any old toothpaste. The only difference I would say is that Blanx doesn't foam up as much as regular toothpaste so I feel like you do need to use a bit more than usual.
Blanx have teamed up with Honestly Healthy, recently, too and are promoting different ways to naturally whiten your teeth alongside their treatments. I love the look of this Strawberry Gazpacho recipe as it not only looks seriously tasty but the malic acid inside strawberries will also help naturally to whiten your teeth. Score!
