The Sunday Pick-Me-Up

Sunday's are my favourite day of the week. I mentioned in my last post (about the beauty of a lazy weekend) how I used to hate Sunday's because I didn't do anything. Ironically, that's why I love them so much, nowadays. They're a day for faffing, for mooching around, for snacking & grazing, for not doing anything of importance, for just making the most of a whole day with no priorities or pressing matters.

Stocking Filler Ideas: Beauty Bits £8 & Under!

I'm a firm believer that stocking fillers should be inexpensive - as all they are is a 'filler' present, after all! However, I've seen loads of beauty 'stocking filler' gift guides kicking around that are quite the opposite - a £20 mascara may fit nicely in a stocking but, for me, that ain't a filler! So I wanted to put together some bits and bobs for the beauty lover in your life that won't break the bank...

Christmas Pyjama Picks

Everyone loves festive pyjamas, don't they? I know I do. They just seem 10x cosier than normal pyjamas! If I could live in pyjamas, a dressing gown and slippers - I would. Here's my pick of some of the cutest, cosiest Christmas pj's around - perfect for getting snuggled up in on a cold winter's night...

Decorating A Small Space For Christmas

If, like me, you don't have loads of space for a big Christmas tree covered in lights and baubles, then you'll probably prefer to get your place in the festive spirit by other means. My side board takes centre stage in my living room - it's one of those pieces of furniture that is more for show than practicality - I love styling it with prints, candles and what not. So, come December, I knew I wanted to fill it with festive decorations!

Current Favourites

Usually I start these posts by saying how quick time seems to be going but I actually think this month has gone kinda slow - does anyone else!? I'll be happy to see the back of November, to be honest, as it's been cold, dull and a bit boring but here's some of the things that I have been loving over the past month...

Six TV Shows I'm Currently Watching...

It's Autumn, it's cold, the clocks have gone back. That means evenings are made for getting cosy on the sofa (or in bed), hot drink in hand, pyjamas on with something good to watch on the telly. Here's some of the shows I've been getting into at the mo that are definitely worth a watch...

Current Favourites

Hey guys, happy hump day! I don't know about you guys, but I'm basically just sat here eagerly anticipating the Bake Off final tonight. Anyways, I thought I'd share with you some of the things I'm loving at the mo. Sorry things have been a bit quiet on the old blog front - just been one of those 'lacking inspiration' weeks, I think! Here goes...

A Few Face Mask Faves

I absolutely adore using face masks when it gets to the colder months. There's just something seriously relaxing about having a nice, hot bath with some form of cream slathered all over your face, isn't there?

Autumn Fashion Wishlist

Now that Autumn is finally here, and it's actually starting to get colder, I'm looking forward to getting a shed load of new sassy, snuggly clothes (R.I.P bank account). Out with the vest tops and in with the chunky knits? Erm, yes please! Here's some bits I've got my eye on to keep cosy but chic for the rest of the season...

Autumn Staycation Inspiration

So, that's it. Summer is officially over; shops don't sell swimwear anymore, there's no pressure to get dat 'bikini bod' and we're all actually kind of excited about the prospect of being able to get straight home from work, slip into our cosiest pyjamas and binge watch a series because, hey, it's dark and cold outside so we can't be judged, right? Well, I know I am anyway. But I still do get that little urge to go and explore. Not the same exploring as in Summer where all I care about is sun, sand and cocktails but there's still a part of me that wants to visit new places, get some fresh air but not spend a fortune because, guess what, it'll be Christmas in about 3 minutes(!) ....

ASOS Lust List (All Under £30!)

I'm at that stage (that comes around far too often) where I'm craving a whole new wardrobe. And one of the first places I tend to turn to for inspiration is ASOS. Here are some of the pieces I've got my eye on, at the moment, all under £30 each...

Homeware Wishin'

I'm always lusting over homeware and buying things for the flat that I definitely don't need - much to my boyfriend (and bank account's) dismay. Here's some bits and bobs I'm loving at the mo...

Photo Diary: Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour

As far as Harry Potter fans go, I'm not the biggest fan out there. I mean, I LOVE the films. I've seen them all multiple times and if Josh and I are ever stuck on something to watch, whacking on any of the Potter films is always a safe bet. I read the first three books as soon as they came out (when I was still in primary school, um what!?) but have yet to read the rest of them. But, fan or not, there's just something about the Harry Potter studio tour in Watford. It's just... magical (as lame and cheesy as that may sound!) And I feel like anyone would enjoy a visit there.

Wishlist: Summer Beauty Essentials

Gosh, I feel like payday has taken FOREVER to arrive this month (I probably say this every month but, still.) I go through phases of lusting over either clothes/homeware/beauty and this month I NEED new beauty bits. It seems as though this humid weather is here to stay, so I'm in urgent need of a few new essentials to add to my collection and help keep me cool, here's what I've got my eye on...

ASOS 20 Summer Styles Under £20!

I don't really know why I'm making this list because all it's making me want to do is book another summer holiday (with my non-existent funds) RIGHT. THIS. SECOND. But, alas, I've already had a week of sun, sea and sand this year. That doesn't mean I can't drool over all the seriously hot summer stuff on ASOS that I wish I'd bought for MY holiday though, does it? Plus I'm sure it'll be helpful for all you gals who'll be jetting away soon and need a few ideas for some new summery buys!

What I Read On Holiday

One of my favourite things to do, whilst on holiday, is read. Because there's nothing more relaxing than soaking up the sun, maybe sipping on a sneaky cocktail, all whilst getting stuck into a good book. I managed to get through 4 books during my week away in Kos, last week. Here's what I read...

Boots Haul - The Time I Got All This For Less Than £30!

I never post hauls because it's rare I buy loads of things at once, to be honest. But when I popped into Boots, last week, I could hardly resist when I found a shit ton of brushes/eyelashes/nails etc on offer -not just your usual 3 for 2 either - like literally less than £3 each!

Fathers Day Gift Ideas With Homesense

My Dad is hands down one of the hardest people to buy for. I don't know what it is about buying for men, because my boyfriend is the same, but I often feel like if they want something they will just buy it. So when it comes to trying to find something that they actually want and don't already have - it can be tricky!

Three Summer Skincare Must-Haves

During the colder months, I'm all about slapping as many skincare products as possible on my face in order to stop it being dry and dull. But, much to my pleasure, Summer time comes with a much more streamlined skincare stash. There's no need for thick face masks to counteract those dodgy dry bits or endless applications of vaseline to soothe chapped lips - Summer is extremely kind to my skin meaning I don't need to use that much on it, really. These three products are most likely going to be my main gals over the upcoming summery months...

Jewellery With A Personal Touch | Gemporia Engraved Collection

I'm not someone who wears a lot of jewellery so I like the pieces that I do wear to be special. I featured some earrings from Gemporia on my blog last year (have a peek here) which I loved so when they got in touch to tell me about their new engraved collection, I knew I'd be interested.

A Little Living Room Refresh

Hey y'all - hope you all had a fab weekend and made the most of the sun (is anyone else wishing they could just pull a week long sickie and sunbathe for the rest of the week? I know I am!) Anyways, I've been sprucing up my living room recently - you know when you just decide you hate everything about a room and NEED to improve it immediately? Yeah, that. I've bought a few new pieces of furniture and also some other bits and bobs to just make the place look a bit homely and I'm pretty haps with it now, so thought I'd share some of the updates with you...

Holiday Wishlist

I don't know about you but as soon as I know I'm going on holiday, I instantly feel like I need a whole new wardrobe to take with me. Like, yes, I'm only going for a week but I need a different outfit for each day and night right? Not to mention bags and shoes, too. Here's what I've got my eye on at the moment...

Month In Photos: March Edition

I'm gonna try out a lil monthly feature here on BG (I've said this before and it's not always gone ahead, so don't hold me to it, k?) But I've been getting quite snap happy lately and feel I may as well share some of these photos in a little monthly round up. So here's how March treated me...

Buying Glasses Online? Review

It's official: I'm an online glasses convert. By that, I mean I will now probably always buy my glasses online. Why, I hear you ask? Because it saves me a shit ton, that's why!

Spring Homeware Haul

As soon as Spring starts getting closer, I always feel like my flat needs a few little refreshes. So when Ocean Loans asked me if I'd like to feature a little homeware haul on my blog, of course I was going to accept! I'm actually in the process of getting new furniture at the moment but, for the time being, I thought I'd share with you a few new home accessories I've picked up - just in time for Spring...

The Perfect Easter Morning With Homesense

I feel like Easter is one of those holidays that just sort of creeps up on you - unlike Christmas which we pretty much start planning for 3 months ahead. But although I don't look forward to Easter, as such, it's a holiday I really enjoy. I mean, what's not to love about a few days off work and a shit ton of chocolate!?

You Know You're An Adult When...

You're tucked up in bed at 8pm with a peppermint tea, checking how much your latest gas bill is gunna be. Gotta love adulthood, right? Here's some more signs you've definitely, somehow, become a bit of a grown up...

Making A Statement With Happiness Boutique

Fun fact: I'm not very fashionable. There's lots of trends I love the look of; pinafores, culottes, fedoras - they look cool on other people but I would probably never actually wear them myself. Mainly because I like to stick with what I know and I'm all about dressing for the weather and making sure I'm comfortable. So my day to day attire is pretty bland, to be honest. Think plain tees, skinny jeans and a pair of ankle boots or my Stan Smith's and that's my wardrobe in a nutshell. So, adding a bit of pizzazz (this word needs to be used more) with a statement necklace is something I can definitely get on board with...

Dressing Table Details

Ikea Malm Dressing Table
When I first moved into my flat, almost two years ago now (wow, that has flown!), one of the first pieces of furniture I looked for was a dressing table. I remember when I was deciding which dresser to buy and how to style it, I spent hours browsing Pinterest, Instagram and other peoples blogs for inspiration so I thought I'd share with you some of the details of my dressing table, now I'm finally kinda happy with it...

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Day Cream & Avocado Pear Night Cream Review

When it comes to skincare, Antipodes is definitely one of my favourite brands. If I'm being completely honest, I'd never tried anything by them until last year when I was sent some products to try but, since then, I've fallen in love. I have quite sensitive skin and I break out easily so when I find a brand I like and my skin gets on with - I tend to stick to it. I was sent a day cream and night cream to try a few weeks ago so thought I'd share with you how I'm getting along with them!

H&M Home Wishlist

Hello! Happy hump day and all that. I said in a post last week (Where do I want my blog to go?) that I definitely want to focus on homeware a lot more on here so, here I am, with a H&M home wishlist! H&M is one of my favourite places to shop for homeware. My only grumble is that there isn't one anywhere near me so I can only do it online which means I end up returning about half of the things I buy, sigh. But, they still have some great pieces at really affordable prices. Here's a few things I've got my eye on at the moment...

Valentines Day With Homesense

My boyfriend and I have never really been ones to go all out on Valentines Day - infact, if it wasn't so in your face absolutely everywhere you go, we'd probably forget about it! I'm not one for wanting to buy gifts for the sake of it so when Homesense asked me to have a look at their range, I was well impressed - because it features pieces that you will actually use after Valentines Day - here are some of my picks...

Pretty, Practical Desk Storage

If you're a regular around here, then you'll know homeware is my one true love. I love picking up random bits and bobs for my flat and, more than anything, I'm obsessed with storage. Because when you have a lot of crap, pretty storage boxes/bags/etc to keep said crap in are a bit of an essential! I got a desk about 6 months ago now and I love how profesh it makes me look but I absolutely hate it when it looks messy. So when Homesense asked me if I'd like to try out some of their storage solutions, I decided to go for desk storage...

9 Under £30 High Street Buys You Need In Your Life

Ooh, look - it's my first wishlist of 2016! I'm on a bit of a spending ban at the moment so, naturally, I torture myself by online window shopping on a daily basis. But, as February is my birthday month, I should be able to treat myself to a few bits shortly! Here's some fashion pieces I've got my eye on that won't create too much of a dent in the old bank balance as they're all under £30 each...

What I Read In 2015

At the beginning of last year I set myself a challenge to read a book a week. Mainly because I was sick of just wasting all my free time aimlessly browsing Twitter and Instagram. It all went well up until about the second week in March and then I just failed. I did still read every now and again, but definitely didn't keep up to it like I first wanted to. However, I still managed to read 17 books throughout the year (which I don't think is too bad!) so thought I'd share with you a few thoughts on each one...

Flavoured Green Tea I Can Get On Board With: T Plus Wellness Drinks Review

Fun fact: I used to hate green tea. But now I can't get enough of the stuff. I'm one of those who goes through about 3 cups in one sitting at Wagamamas cos it's free. Yep. But I definitely think green tea is one of those 'grower' drinks. Like, the first time you try it you'll probably think it tastes like dishwater. But it's one of those things you just have to persevere with as it has so many benefits...
