33 Things I Want To Do In 2017

I'm not bothering setting myself any proper 'goals' for this year because, lets be honest, how many of us actually stick to them? There's the standard, cliche things I'd like to change; eat healthier, exercise more, save more... you get the jist. But if I set myself specific targets and amounts, I'll just feel guilty if I don't end up meeting them. Instead, I'd rather think about things I'd like to do in 2017. They're not all spectacular - mainly just little things that will all contribute to making 2017 a good one...

The Sunday Pick-Me-Up

Sunday's are my favourite day of the week. I mentioned in my last post (about the beauty of a lazy weekend) how I used to hate Sunday's because I didn't do anything. Ironically, that's why I love them so much, nowadays. They're a day for faffing, for mooching around, for snacking & grazing, for not doing anything of importance, for just making the most of a whole day with no priorities or pressing matters.

The Beauty Of A Lazy Weekend

When I was younger, I used to love spending my Saturday's hanging out with friends in Leeds, seeing how far I could make my £10 pocket money go. Then, I used to think Sunday's were boring cos I did nothing. Oh, how things have changed. I can't imagine anything worse than moping around a busy city centre on a Saturday and I can't imagine not wanting to have a lazy Sunday...

Stocking Filler Ideas: Beauty Bits £8 & Under!

I'm a firm believer that stocking fillers should be inexpensive - as all they are is a 'filler' present, after all! However, I've seen loads of beauty 'stocking filler' gift guides kicking around that are quite the opposite - a £20 mascara may fit nicely in a stocking but, for me, that ain't a filler! So I wanted to put together some bits and bobs for the beauty lover in your life that won't break the bank...

Things I Said I'd Do In 2016 (And Didn't)

2016 has been a right funny old year, hasn't it? I feel like it's just been a collectively shit year for the world - I mean, we lost Alan Rickman and gained Donald fecking Trump as a president so, y'know, it's not been the best, has it? 2016 was the year I was supposed to 'sort my life out'. Here's how that went...

Tips For Getting The Perfect Instagram Shot

Instagram has quickly become my favourite social media platform. I love seeing peoples daily lives documented in little square pictures and I love playing around with making my grid look as #goals as possible. Joking (kinda). Although the new algorithm has pissed me (and everyone) off a little bit, it's actually made me want to try even harder with making my Insta as follow-able as possible!

Christmas Pyjama Picks

Everyone loves festive pyjamas, don't they? I know I do. They just seem 10x cosier than normal pyjamas! If I could live in pyjamas, a dressing gown and slippers - I would. Here's my pick of some of the cutest, cosiest Christmas pj's around - perfect for getting snuggled up in on a cold winter's night...

Things That Will Get You In The Festive Spirit If You're Not Already

Unlike last year, I've been feeling festive for quite a while, now. And now we're actually in December, I'm in full on Christmas mode. But I know some people will still be feeling a bit 'meh' about the holiday season. Last year, I couldn't be arsed with Christmas at all - we didn't even put up any Christmas decorations (I know, what scrooges). I think because I was just in a bit of a down mood in general, this time last year, I sort of ruined the whole build up to Christmas for myself. If you're in a similar position, here's a few things that might help to get you firmly into the festive spirit...

Decorating A Small Space For Christmas

If, like me, you don't have loads of space for a big Christmas tree covered in lights and baubles, then you'll probably prefer to get your place in the festive spirit by other means. My side board takes centre stage in my living room - it's one of those pieces of furniture that is more for show than practicality - I love styling it with prints, candles and what not. So, come December, I knew I wanted to fill it with festive decorations!

Stocking Filler Ideas: Monogram Edition

If there's one thing people have obsessed over in 2016, it's monogram stuff. Because we just really like to have our initials emblazoned on our shit, don't we? I mentioned Anthropologie's classic monogram mugs in yesterday's home stocking fillers gift guide which led me to create a whole post based around monogram memorabilia...

Stocking Filler Ideas: Home Edition

So, I thought I'd kick off Blogmas with a few gift guides! I often prefer buying lots of little gifts for someone rather than one big gift (so there's more to unwrap, of course!) so today I've put together some stocking filler ideas for those who love their homeware...

Attempting Blogmas!

So, gang, I've decided I'm going to attempt blogmas this year. I say 'attempt' rather than actually do because there is defo a 50/50 chance that I'll end up completely forgetting to post some days or just run out of ideas entirely. A bit like last year (more of that here)...

Current Favourites

Usually I start these posts by saying how quick time seems to be going but I actually think this month has gone kinda slow - does anyone else!? I'll be happy to see the back of November, to be honest, as it's been cold, dull and a bit boring but here's some of the things that I have been loving over the past month...

It's Okay To Do Nothing

Ever feel like even though it's your day off, you should still be doing something? If you haven't made actual plans for a day out or something, then there's usually some kind of cleaning, tidying or general faffing about to do... Which doesn't leave a lot of time to just chill. Switch off, stay in your pyjamas and simply do nothing.

21 Things To Be Happy About

I've mentioned the book '14,000' things to be happy about' on here before. It's essentially a very extensive list of (yep, you guessed it) things to be happy about.  Little, everyday things that can turn a bad day into a good one. If you don't own it, you should. It's one of those books you can just pick up and flick through to cheer you up when you're having a bit of a down day. In the spirit of that, here's a few things that have made me happy over the past few weeks...

Six TV Shows I'm Currently Watching...

It's Autumn, it's cold, the clocks have gone back. That means evenings are made for getting cosy on the sofa (or in bed), hot drink in hand, pyjamas on with something good to watch on the telly. Here's some of the shows I've been getting into at the mo that are definitely worth a watch...

A Little Bedroom Update

I love nothing more than a little home refresh. I'm constantly buying new bits of homeware and pottering about the flat, rearranging things and just giving the place a general spruce up. Our bedroom is quite small and, up until recently, it was far too cluttered...

Attempting To Be A Bit Healthier In Autumn/Winter

I know it's not officially winter yet but it's definitely starting to feel like it! Dark mornings, dark nights, that bitter chill in the air, struggling to get out of bed because it's so damn cold... One thing I'm bad at in the colder months, is attempting to be healthy. I know it's cheesy but, in Summer, I'm more than happy to make the effort with eating well, going to the gym etc because I know I'll actually have to get my bod out at some point on a holiday! However, once Autumn hits, I don't really care. After all, I want the extra rolls to keep me warm at night, right?

A Few Ways To Spend A Rainy Weekend

As much as I love Autumn - the rain? Not so much. It seems all October has provided so far is dull, rainy days rather than those nice, crisp cool days I've been craving. I imagine there'll be a lot of rainy weekends to come over the next few months so here's a few ways to spend them...

3 Books You Should Read

When I first started this blog, I used to do a book review every week! How I managed to read an entire book each week whilst working full time I have no idea, to be honest(?). I probably get through about 6/7 a year at the moment but I really would like to read more. I'm one of those people who, once I get stuck into a good book, I have to finish it straight away. If I'm ever at a point where it's taking me weeks to get through one - then I know it's not for me. Since it's getting to that point of the year where I like to spend every evening snuggled on the sofa, it's the perfect time to get into reading again. So, I thought I'd just share a few that I really loved in case, like me, you're on the lookout for a few new reads...

Autumn Staycation Inspiration

So, that's it. Summer is officially over; shops don't sell swimwear anymore, there's no pressure to get dat 'bikini bod' and we're all actually kind of excited about the prospect of being able to get straight home from work, slip into our cosiest pyjamas and binge watch a series because, hey, it's dark and cold outside so we can't be judged, right? Well, I know I am anyway. But I still do get that little urge to go and explore. Not the same exploring as in Summer where all I care about is sun, sand and cocktails but there's still a part of me that wants to visit new places, get some fresh air but not spend a fortune because, guess what, it'll be Christmas in about 3 minutes(!) ....

Seeing Past The Stats

I've been blogging for just under 2 years now and one of the things I have a love/hate relationship with is stats. How many people follow you, how many views your posts get, how long your readers stick around on your site - there's loads to consider and, even if you don't set out with any kind of expectations or goals, it can be quite disheartening if you have a 'bad stat' day/week/month etc...

Long Time, No Blog

Today marks two weeks since I last did a blog post and it makes me kinda sad. My blog used to literally be my life. I thought about what I'd blog, whilst at work, driving to work, before I fell asleep etc. I was constantly taking photos 'for the blog', buying cute 'props' that would look good in the background of a flatlay and took part in pretty much every blog chat going!

Photo Diary: Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour

As far as Harry Potter fans go, I'm not the biggest fan out there. I mean, I LOVE the films. I've seen them all multiple times and if Josh and I are ever stuck on something to watch, whacking on any of the Potter films is always a safe bet. I read the first three books as soon as they came out (when I was still in primary school, um what!?) but have yet to read the rest of them. But, fan or not, there's just something about the Harry Potter studio tour in Watford. It's just... magical (as lame and cheesy as that may sound!) And I feel like anyone would enjoy a visit there.

I don't really know why I'm making this list because all it's making me want to do is book another summer holiday (with my non-existent funds) RIGHT. THIS. SECOND. But, alas, I've already had a week of sun, sea and sand this year. That doesn't mean I can't drool over all the seriously hot summer stuff on ASOS that I wish I'd bought for MY holiday though, does it? What I Read On Holiday

One of my favourite things to do, whilst on holiday, is read. Because there's nothing more relaxing than soaking up the sun, maybe sipping on a sneaky cocktail, all whilst getting stuck into a good book. I managed to get through 4 books during my week away in Kos, last week. Here's what I read...

Sometimes You Just Need A Bit Of Vitamin Sea

As you probably already know if you follow me on Instagram (if not, you probs should), I've just got back from a week in the beautiful island of Kos, Greece. I've been one of those annoying folk who posts pictures of themselves sipping cocktails on the beach on a Monday morning, soz about that. As I say every year, a week is never enough, though, and I'm currently spending my time trying to work out if I could afford to actually live if I booked another holiday. It's tempting!

Three Summer Skincare Must-Haves

During the colder months, I'm all about slapping as many skincare products as possible on my face in order to stop it being dry and dull. But, much to my pleasure, Summer time comes with a much more streamlined skincare stash. There's no need for thick face masks to counteract those dodgy dry bits or endless applications of vaseline to soothe chapped lips - Summer is extremely kind to my skin meaning I don't need to use that much on it, really. These three products are most likely going to be my main gals over the upcoming summery months...

Easy Ways To Save Some But Still Spend Some

As much as people tell us that 'money isn't everything' (it definitely isn't, btw) it is still pretty important in most of our lives. I mean, unless you're Chuck Bass and own a hotel empire at the age of 18. As much as I'd like to live a life of luxury, I know that just isn't feasible for me. Saving is now a way of life, sigh. But so is spending and I think it's just all about getting the right balance...
