Antipodes Vanilla Pod Day Cream & Avocado Pear Night Cream Review

When it comes to skincare, Antipodes is definitely one of my favourite brands. If I'm being completely honest, I'd never tried anything by them until last year when I was sent some products to try but, since then, I've fallen in love. I have quite sensitive skin and I break out easily so when I find a brand I like and my skin gets on with - I tend to stick to it. I was sent a day cream and night cream to try a few weeks ago so thought I'd share with you how I'm getting along with them!

Before using the Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream, I was already using an Antipodes day cream (the Light Rejoice Facial Day Cream) which I really like. So I was a little hesitant to mix things up! I'm glad I did though because I think I actually prefer this one as it just feels a bit more luxurious. Perhaps it's the hint of shea butter or the fact it smells seriously dreamy...

The gorgeous vanilla smell is definitely a plus as a lot of Antipodes products don't always smell that great - mainly because they're organic and don't add fragrance which I don't really mind about, to be fair, but it's still a nice smell to have on your face, first thing in the morning! The texture of this is exactly what I look for in a day cream - not too heavy but still thick enough to make your skin feel really moisturised. I've been using this day cream every day for about 2 weeks now and, like most Antipodes products, it gets on with my skin like a dream and is just a really good everyday moisturiser that really hydratres and refreshes your face. Make up seems to apply well after using it, too, which is always a bonus!

Next up is the Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream. I have to say, this definitely doesn't smell as good as the Vanilla Day Cream. It's got a bit of a weird scent which I can't say I'm a fan of but, like I said before, I'm not really fussed about fragrances when it comes to skincare - it's definitely not worth the irritation they can bring! I'd say this is quite a thick night cream but it does still rub in easily and doesn't leave your face feeling sticky. I have combination skin and haven't felt like this has been too heavy, for me, but it could be if you have very oily skin.

Like the day cream, I've used this every night for the past few weeks and it's definitely left my skin a lot softer and got rid of a few pesky dry patches I'd had for a while. However, it did seem to break me out when I first started using it but this soon cleared up after about a week of use.

Have you tried anything by Antipodes?
