Where Do I Want My Blog To Go?

I feel like I've written so many posts recently about how I don't blog as much as I used to, how I'm changing my attitude to blogging, blah blah blah. But it's true. I feel like the blogging spark, for me, has kinda died. And I think that's mainly due to the fact that I've just not had much new inspiration...

When I first started this blog, I thought I'd mainly focus on beauty. Because I'd worked at Clinique and built up quite a good beauty collection, I thought I was a bit of an expert. LOL. I soon realised I am definitely no beauty expert. I can't even apply eyeliner evenly and I just find it really difficult to describe make up products. They either work or they don't, in my opinion. I still love reading beauty blogs - but writing em? Nah, not for me.

I then branched out into a lot more lifestyle posts and it soon became clear that's what my readers like the most. Lifestyle is such a broad category but it seems my most read posts tend to be money saving ones, funny list-style pieces or just general personal posts where I open up a bit about how I'm feeling etc.

I've kind of strayed away from personal posts lately because I just don't feel as comfortable writing them. I'm not sure why, but I just can't seem to write down what I think.

So I think, in order to actually get back into the swing of things, I need to decide where I actually want my blog to go? What do I actually want to write about? I don't want to be someone who just writes posts for the sake of it or accepts PR samples of items I would never really buy and then feel obliged to rave about them (I haven't ever done this, btw!)

I want to write about what I'm interested in. I definitely want to do more money saving posts as I'm at a point in my life where I have to budget and pay for boring stuff like rent and electricity instead of just blowing my wage in Topshop and MAC.

I also want to start doing a lot more homeware/interiors based posts. I've already done a few this year and, to be honest, I spend a lot more time and money on homeware than I do on make up or clothes so it makes sense really. I absolutely love seeing how people decorate their homes but often feel like mine just isn't as 'pinterest-worthy' as others. But I'm still pretty proud of how the flat is looking at the moment and definitely want to share some of it with you!

Another thing I want to focus on more is food posts. Because, basically, food is what I spend about 80% of my time thinking about. I want to to start cooking/baking a lot more and knowing that I can blog about it, as well, will definitely be more of a motivation start making a lot more home made meals. I've done recipe posts before and they always seem to go down quite well so I'm hoping to do a mixture of healthy, clean eating posts as well as the odd sweet treat as I do love a good cupcake, after all!

What kind of posts would you like to see more often? Please let me know, as I really would love to know!
