The Stand Out Summer Skirt

Confession: I was extremely unorganized for my holiday this year and literally placed a huge ASOS order 2 days before I went, spent enough to get free next day delivery and prayed for the best. Shockingly, I didn't return A SINGLE THING. This is highly unusual for me. As much as I love online shopping, it's rare I actually love everything I buy but, this time, it was different. Of course, new outfits and a hotel filled with white walls and pretty flowery back drops meant a fashion post was inevitable (much to my bf's dismay.) So here is one of my fave outfits of the holiday (and the only one that got photographed because I was too burnt/covered in mozzie bites every other night)...

I fell in love with this beaut of a skirt as soon as it arrived. Look how cute the daisy pattern is! I was worried it might be a bit too out there for me as it's so bright but this wasn't the case, at all. Paired with plain black, it's the perfect stand out skirt and kept me cool and comfortable for an evening strolling along the beach, watching the sun set, in sunny Kos. I love how light the material is and also the fact that it's a close cut fit but without been full on bodycon. For £8, I'm seriously impressed with this lil guy! For reference, it's actually by Daisy Street but I bought it from ASOS and went for a size S (I'm usually an 8/10).

Because the skirt is such a bright, stand-out piece, I opted for a black top, shoes and bag to go with it. The cute lil off the shoulder black bardot top is from Dorothy Perkins - another sale buy, at just £5! I embraced my inner cowgirl with a black fringed bag from New Look (similar here) and kept it simple with some black, slip-on sliders from Primark which are a total Birkenstock dupe (but only cost £4). Admittedly, they're not the comfiest shoes ever but they were great for wearing by the pool or on the beach when you just want something to slip on and off.

What do you think of this outfit?
