A Few Ways To Spend A Rainy Weekend

As much as I love Autumn - the rain? Not so much. It seems all October has provided so far is dull, rainy days rather than those nice, crisp cool days I've been craving. I imagine there'll be a lot of rainy weekends to come over the next few months so here's a few ways to spend them...

Breakfast in bed
Rainy or not, all weekends should involve breakfast in bed, in my opinion. Preferably after 9 and on a cute lil breakfast tray that you can totally put on Instagram...

Either go to a shopping centre if you can deal with the crowds - rather than getting piss wet through on the high street - or simply do it from the comfort of your own bed, thanks to the good old internet. Sometimes you just need to treat yo'self and you can't go wrong with a bit of retail therapy - especially when it can be done whilst sat in your pyjamas.

Binge watch a new series (or rewatch an old one!)
Sometimes all I want to do on a weekend is stay in bed and watch TV but often feel guilty for not actually leaving the flat and getting some fresh air - that's why rain is the perfect excuse! I absolutely love been snuggled up in bed listening to the rain hit my window. I'm at that point, though, where I've watched pretty much all of the series Netflix has to offer so have started re-watching some (currently Gossip Girl & Breaking Bad). If anyone has any series recommendations (that aren't the obvious ones that I'll probably have seen) then let me know in the comments, please!

Treat yourself to a spa day
What better way to brighten a rainy day than by having a relaxing, refreshing day in the spa. Spas can be a bit pricey so it's always a good idea to look on Groupon or just book in advance to get some cheap deals. I've been thinking about having a weekend away, before the end of the year, and if this could be combined with some spa treatments then I'd be totally okay with that. I love the look of the Urban Retreat Moroccan Spa in Harrods - if only they had a Harrods up north...

Catch up with family/friends
I can go weeks or even months without seeing some of my friends and family so a rainy weekend, without any plans, is the perfect time to have a spontaneous get together with my loved ones. Whether it's just chilling at their house - or yours - or nipping out for a quick coffee or a bite to eat, it's always nice to have a little catch up.

Go to the cinema
I literally never go to the cinema in summer as I hate to be sat in a dark room for hours whilst it's warm outside so I can't even remember the last time I went. Now Autumn's hit, though, and it's a lot chillier, the cinema is the perfect way to kill a couple of hours on a rainy weekend. I always try to look out for those 40% off Odeon vouchers, though, as I kind of hate paying full price on a weekend when I know I could get it 2 for 1 on a Tues/Weds!

What's your favourite way to spend a rainy weekend?
