A Little Bedroom Update

I love nothing more than a little home refresh. I'm constantly buying new bits of homeware and pottering about the flat, rearranging things and just giving the place a general spruce up. Our bedroom is quite small and, up until recently, it was far too cluttered...

When we first moved in, I was dead set on having a dressing table in the bedroom and opted for the old blogger fave, the Ikea malm. But I'm a just a bit over it now. I don't even sit at my dressing table to do my make up, anymore! But it is home to my trusty collection and I'd hate to get rid of it. So, it's been demoted to the spare room. And in it's place is the drawers we already had in the bedroom with a Smart TV on top of it. As I mentioned in my Current Favourites - I just couldn't resist getting a TV for the bedroom for Netflix purposes!

This meant there was a bit of a gap, though, so I shifted my beside malm to go next to the bigger malm and bought this lovely set of ladder shelves from La Redoute! It took a while for the order to come but I'm really pleased with it - I bought these shelves along with two bedside tables and got the whole lot for just over £50 - including delivery. Of course, it's standard flatpack stuff but, when all you're bothered about is keeping up with the minimalist, white aesthetique - it does its job.

Once I'd moved everything around, the bedroom was looking a bit plain and white so it was time for decorations. I got some colourful prints for the shelves and popped my Eiffel Tower ornament, a cute lil cacti and this book on there along with a standard, white wicker basket for random bits of crap.

I needed something to put on my small malm and I couldn't resist this house plant when I spotted it in B&Q a couple of weeks ago - it looks really fresh and brightens up the room a lot - and was only a fiver! At the moment it's in this grey wooden tray I got from H&M a while ago. I'm glad it's been put to use as I really love it! I've also put another lil cacti and a sweet smelling Next diffuser in there too.

What do you think of my updates?
