What I Read In January

One of my goals for this year was to read more. I love reading but I can go months on end without ever actually picking a book up because I'm too 'busy' (ie. wasting my life on social media!) I started off the year really well and read 3 books in the first week of January. Then I got a bit slack and only managed another 2 for the rest of the month. Still - if I can get through 5 a month - I'll be happy with that! Here's what I read in January - maybe you'll find yourself some books to add to your 'to read' list...

Some Books I Want To Read In 2017

I've set myself the challenge of 'reading more' for the past couple of years, now. Whilst I never go a year without at least reading 5/6 books, I never read enough. I love reading. I'm not someone who just wants to do it because I feel like I should - I genuinely really enjoy it. I miss studying English Literature and dissecting a single quote and thinking about all the different ways it could be interpreted, I miss looking for a hidden message or metaphor behind a seemingly simple sentence. I just really love getting stuck into a good book and I'm always reminded of this when I eventually pick up a book and end up finishing it in a few days flat because I get so hooked.

The Sunday Pick-Me-Up

Sunday's are my favourite day of the week. I mentioned in my last post (about the beauty of a lazy weekend) how I used to hate Sunday's because I didn't do anything. Ironically, that's why I love them so much, nowadays. They're a day for faffing, for mooching around, for snacking & grazing, for not doing anything of importance, for just making the most of a whole day with no priorities or pressing matters.

Decorating A Small Space For Christmas

If, like me, you don't have loads of space for a big Christmas tree covered in lights and baubles, then you'll probably prefer to get your place in the festive spirit by other means. My side board takes centre stage in my living room - it's one of those pieces of furniture that is more for show than practicality - I love styling it with prints, candles and what not. So, come December, I knew I wanted to fill it with festive decorations!

Autumn Staycation Inspiration

So, that's it. Summer is officially over; shops don't sell swimwear anymore, there's no pressure to get dat 'bikini bod' and we're all actually kind of excited about the prospect of being able to get straight home from work, slip into our cosiest pyjamas and binge watch a series because, hey, it's dark and cold outside so we can't be judged, right? Well, I know I am anyway. But I still do get that little urge to go and explore. Not the same exploring as in Summer where all I care about is sun, sand and cocktails but there's still a part of me that wants to visit new places, get some fresh air but not spend a fortune because, guess what, it'll be Christmas in about 3 minutes(!) ....

Photo Diary: Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour

As far as Harry Potter fans go, I'm not the biggest fan out there. I mean, I LOVE the films. I've seen them all multiple times and if Josh and I are ever stuck on something to watch, whacking on any of the Potter films is always a safe bet. I read the first three books as soon as they came out (when I was still in primary school, um what!?) but have yet to read the rest of them. But, fan or not, there's just something about the Harry Potter studio tour in Watford. It's just... magical (as lame and cheesy as that may sound!) And I feel like anyone would enjoy a visit there.
